I had to make a few pneumatic cannons for Make:NYC and in a pinch I sourced all the parts from Home Depot. Of course your local Home Depot stock will vary, but these are simple and easy to assemble.
  Be sure to properly clean, prep and glue all PVC joints. Let cure 24 hours before use. Use Teflon tape on all threaded joints! Comments
